1. Who these terms apply to

These terms govern your use of 1121basmati.com and any commercial engagement that flows from an inquiry submitted through the site. "We," "us," "HAS Rice" refer to HAS Rice Pakistan (Haroon Abdul Sattar Trading). "You" refers to the visitor or potential buyer submitting a quote request.

2. Quote requests are not contracts

Submitting a quote request via the quote form does not create a contract. It initiates a commercial conversation. A binding contract requires a written quote from us, your written acceptance, and typically one of:

• An irrevocable Letter of Credit at sight in our favor
• A 30% advance wire transfer (T/T) with the balance payable against BL copy

3. Quote validity

Written quotes we issue are valid for 48 hours from the quote date unless stated otherwise. FOB and CNF prices may change after the validity window due to raw paddy market shifts, shipping rates, or currency movements. Indicative ranges shown on the prices page refresh daily but are not themselves binding quotes.

4. Minimum order

Our standard minimum order is 2 x 20' FCL (~52 MT) for 1121 Basmati across all four processing types. Private label orders have a higher minimum of 5 x 20' FCL (~130 MT) per SKU due to bag printing economics. Smaller LCL orders may be accepted case-by-case with different pricing.

5. Payment terms

• L/C at sight: preferred for first-time buyers. Irrevocable letter of credit confirmed by a major international bank.
• T/T 30/70: 30% advance wire on order confirmation, 70% against scanned BL copy.
• We do not offer Cash Against Documents (CAD) terms.
• Bank charges on your side are your responsibility. Charges on our side are our responsibility.

6. Incoterms and title

Unless specified otherwise, quotes are FOB Karachi per Incoterms 2020. Title and risk pass to the buyer at the Karachi port rail. CNF or CIF quotes include ocean freight but not destination clearance, demurrage, or inland delivery.

7. Inspection and quality

Pre-shipment inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek is included in FOB pricing on orders meeting 5 x 20' FCL MOQ. Below that threshold, inspection is available at the buyer's cost. Inspection certificates are issued against the specifications in the L/C or proforma invoice and shipped with the document set.

If a lot fails inspection, we reprocess or replace from a fresh lot. We do not offer a negotiated price reduction for failed lots.

8. Lead time and shipment

Standard production lead time is 7 to 14 days from confirmed payment to ready-for-loading. Ocean transit is additional and varies by destination (see market pages for typical transit windows). Rush shipments are possible at extra cost when inventory permits.

9. Packaging and documentation

Standard packaging is PP woven 25 kg or 50 kg bags. Retail formats (5 kg, 10 kg) and private label carry additional cost per the prices page. Standard documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, and halal certificate. Country-specific documents (SASO, SFDA, COC, ESMA, EU MRL test report, ISIRI) are arranged per shipment at the documented cost.

10. Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond reasonable control: acts of God, war, sanctions, port closure, strikes, pandemics, export restrictions by the Pakistani government, or extraordinary freight disruption. The affected party must notify the other within 7 days and both parties work in good faith on mitigation, which may include partial performance, delay, or termination.

11. Intellectual property

Site content (text, images, schema data, data files) is owned by HAS Rice Pakistan and licensed to you for read-only, non-commercial reference. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source URL. You may not scrape the site at volume, reproduce it wholesale, or republish our pricing data commercially.

12. Third-party content

External links (to pakistanrice.com, industry bodies, or other sites) are provided for reference. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for it.

13. Warranties and limits

Rice quality is warranted to meet the specifications stated in the commercial invoice and inspection certificate. Beyond that written specification, the site and all content are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from an order is capped at the value of that order.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Disputes arising from a specific order are resolved first by good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes are submitted to arbitration under the Pakistan Arbitration Act, seated in Karachi, conducted in English. Nothing here prevents a buyer in their home jurisdiction from pursuing consumer-protection remedies available to them under local law.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. For active buyers, material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before taking effect.
